Campervan Guidebook exists to make equipment choices clearer. Readers should be able to tell whether an article is based on independent research, genuine use of a product or a commercial partnership. Those are not interchangeable.
We distinguish three types of content
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Hands-on review | We have personally examined and used the actual product; the article explains what was tested. |
| Research-based guide | We compare published specifications, documentation and practical buying considerations, without claiming first-hand testing. |
| Sponsored feature | A business has paid or provided value for the feature. Its commercial nature is clearly disclosed. |
What our reviews will assess
- Fitness for purpose and who the product is best suited to
- Clear specification checks and physical compatibility
- Ease of use, storage and maintainability
- Observed performance only where genuinely measured
- Value compared with relevant alternatives
- Warranty, support, replacement parts and installation considerations
Testing methods will depend on the product. A battery review may require energy-throughput and charging observations; a stove needs cooking usability, cleaning and stability assessment. We will not pretend one scoring system suits every category.
Products supplied by partners
A product provided free of charge is not a promise of a positive review. We will explain when a product was supplied for evaluation. We will not manufacture test results, fabricated user feedback, false photographs, or claims about equipment we haven’t operated.
Affiliate links and advertising
Some articles may include affiliate links, through which Campervan Guidebook can earn a commission. Where content is advertising or sponsored, it will be clearly identified. Commercial arrangements do not determine the conclusions of a review.
Corrections and updates
Product specifications and prices change. We aim to check meaningful product details against current sources when an article is updated. If an error is found, we’ll correct it rather than leave inaccurate buying advice online.
Electrical, gas and vehicle safety
Guides explain buying considerations and common trade-offs. They are not substitutes for professional design, gas-safety checks, manufacturer installation instructions or competent electrical installation work.
A developing publication
Campervan Guidebook is a developing independent publication. Our review library will grow as testing and research are completed. We would rather publish a smaller number of useful pieces than fill the site with empty rankings or made-up recommendations.
